FEATURE FILM COMPETITION
15 feature films in 35mm will run for the Trieste Prize,
selected among those films - produced in the last two years –
documenting and interpreting the most original and meaningful
new trends and signals of the whole film production industry.
SHORT FILM COMPETITION 25 works in 35mm produced in the last two years
running for the Mediterranean Laboratory Prize.
DOCUMENTARY FILM COMPETITION
a competition of 15 Italian premieres, devoted to the
documentaries produced in Europe, with a smaller section
dedicated to Italian production, running for the Alpe Adria
Cinema Award.
The monographic retrospective
traditionally devoted to an original filmmaker or
period of particular interest in the history of Central and
Eastern European cinema. In its previous editions the Festival
has brought to the limelight several controversial historical
periods, such as the Hungarian 1956, and great and difficult
authors, such as J. Kawalerowicz, A. Zulawski, P. Gothar, P.
Forgacs, I. Nemec, J. Jakubisko.
UPDATE DEUTSCHLAND
a survey on the new brand German Wave, where between
documentary and fiction, low budget projects and bigger
international productions the new filmmakers manage to conquer
the audience and the critics.
SECTION IMAGES
a space devoted to research and linguistic experimentation, with
no regards towards running time and format.
REPORTAGE: TRAVELS AND
TRAVELLERS an encounter between cinema and writing, between two possible narrative
forms.
CIMEMA ZONES presentation
of the films productions made in the Friuli Venezia Giulia
region, and of those works directed by professionals (and non)
born or living in this Region.
MEETINGS WITH THE
AUTHORS always caring for its audience’s attendance, Alpe Adria Cinema
organizes daily meetings with the accreditated press and the
authors attending the Festival
SIDE SPECIAL EVENTS during
the last years, the side events of the Festival have largely
increased, including exhibitions, concerts, theatre plays and
dance performances, multimedia events, always cooperating with
national and international institutions and organizations (Fabrica,
the research laboratory by Benetton; Telecom; Swiss Cultural
Centre,Milan; Italian Cultural Institutions, Cultural Centre of
Linguistic Co-operation, Milan; Foreign Consulates in Italy;
Pro-Helvetia; Museums and Art Galleries).

Trieste Prize for the Best Feature Film

Mediterranean Foundation Prize for the Best Short Film
(2.000 eur)
Alpe Adria Cinema Prize for the Best Documentary Film
(2.500 eur)
CEI - Central European Initiative Award (2.500
eur) to the best film of the three competition sections, representing
contemporary reality and the dialogue between cultures.
Musicfeel Award to the Best Short Film, whose film director which
will receive the possibility of a free soundtrack for his next short film,
provided by Musicfeel of Stefano Cretarola and Marco
