Thirty seconds of spot animation comprises the jingle for the
festival’s 19th edition: images produced by Ernesto Zanotti and music by the
Triestino group Maxmaber Orkestar, compose an effective trailer to kick off the
TFF screenings. The opening image is a visual tracking shot, or rather a
journey inside the festival’s “territory”, communicated through the hints of
films and images which, much like the shower of flowers, break into the city of
Trieste. Compact in style but made diaphanous with tenuous, warm colours
which compliment the effect of the joyful folk music. This visually emphasizes
the town’s melancholic beauty before arriving at the current edition’s title
lettering: a font half way between that of past epic films and the graphic
design of Eastern Europe.
Ernesto Zanotti graduated in Multimedia Science and Technology,
with a thesis on contemporary English cinema animation; After a work experience
placement at the Crackartoons Studios, which completed his education into the
various techniques of traditional animation and in particular that of motion
advertising, he collaborated with the Centre of Cinematographic Expression for
the IX edition of the Far East Festival. Animation has always been one of his
great passions. (www.playpics.it)
Maxmaber Orkestar is the Italo-Bosnian musical configuration
founded in Trieste in 2003. Vocals, accordian, sax, guitar, cajon, violin and
double bass whisk the listeners off on a journey through the popular traditions
of Eastern Europe and the mediterranean, through the wound, unusual rhythms,
archaic melodies, overwhelming waltzes... In 2003 the Maxmaber Orkestar - guests
at numerous festivals, events and showcases- created the musical theatre show
“Fuori dal Bordo!”; and in 2005 recorded their first album “Ancheniente!”.
Their most recent production is the 2007 album “Ajde Jano!”.
