MIDPOINT FEATURE LAUNCH
WORKSHOP 1 @ EASTWEEK - TSFF

In 2017 the Trieste Film Festival, along with When East Meets West, officially teamed up with Midpoint − the script and project development programme for emerging film professionals based in Prague − to transform our previous script development project Eastweek into the first step of Midpoint Feature Launch, the leading year-long development programme for Central and Eastern Europe's emerging film talents, in collaboration with Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Connecting Cottbus, CineMart and the educational programme Art Department Masterclass. This transformation has been welcomed as the successful completion as well as the continuity of a five-year development programme focused on script writing. The one-year programme features two workshops focusing on project development, financing, and co-production opportunities; plus a brand new presentation platform, and a follow-up session. It is addressed to teams of writers, film directors, and producers developing their first or second feature film: they can experience a year-long workshop platform, which takes off in January in Trieste and runs till January 2020, when they will be invited once again to Trieste during the co-production forum When East Meets West for a follow-up session with their potential artistic and financing partners.
For the second edition of Midpoint Feature Launch @ Eastweek, a selection committee made up of representatives from Midpoint, TriesteFF and WEMW have selected 9 projects, from the countries of Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.
We wish the best of luck to all of the selected projects, hoping they will be further developed also thanks to the help of Midpoint and of the first stage of the workshop in Trieste!
