CEI EVENT – Glances at the EASTWEEK PROJECT
A great opportunity given by the Trieste Film Festival.
The spirit of the Eastweek project is rightly this. To believe in the meetings, in the possibilities to develop that could materialize into coproductions that probably will be born from various countries together...
The chance to be able to listen to the great masters of cinema, live the possibility to share the experience. This possibility is given to more than thirty film students from various Faculties and Academies of countries such as Slovenia, Serbia, Germany, Albania...
The protagonist of the first Masterclass: Jerzy Stuhr.
Jerzy Stuhr, star of stage and screen, set design, director in a film school has related the things he has done since his exposure as a director. "In ’95 or ’96, Nanni Moretti came to Crakow with his Caro Diario. In the debate after the film, Moretti spoke of the personal motivation that backed his film, of his illness, I was watching this and I though: I would like to do this, succeed to make the complexes, the weaknesses, the bad choices, the loss of families...this, if today with me, some young take this decision my goals will be obtained".
The great Hungarian director Marta Mèszàros in the morning meeting explained that "it is important for the young to understand what they want, where they want to go. Today they can make a film even with a mobile, but it is not enough. You also need talent. It is not enough to shoot images. You need to want 'something' that comes from within".
