TFF 20th -
FESTIVAL DIARY |
|
Meetings with the authors
The first to
attend was the Slovene director Jan Cviktovič,, talking
about his short film, Vem (I Know)
and the director
Pola Schirin Beck with the producer Tilman Kolb
for the short German film In Deiner Haut (Inside You). To act as a
moderator between directors and producers was the writer Roberto
Ferrucci.
Another moment that heightened the attention was the discussion with the
Greek director Thanos Anastopoulos, author of the very
intense film Diorthosi (correction). Anastopoulos explained how
his is a cinema of reflection, with the intent to twist stereotypes. His
film is "like a love letter between my city and my country, but without
idealization".
At the Trieste Film Festival however however there were not only actors,
directors and producers. The participation of Gerald Kerkletz,
Director of Photography for März was the chance to delve into
the technical details of the German film.
In the second part of the morning was the time for the director
Claudia Cipriani. Her important documentary La guerra della
onde. Storia di una radio che non c’era (The War of
the Waves. History of a Radio That was never there) was the
starting poing for a complex and rich discussion, involved in which were
Ennio Guerrato and Marco Coslovich,
director and script writer of Il tramondo di Spartaco on the historical
memory of the country. |
CEI Event –
Glances at the Eastweek Project
The
second Masterclass appointment with the director Andrzej Zulawski.
The
great Polish movie director comes across almost immediately
as a direct and simple person. You would not have thought not even
for a moment since arriving on stage enlightened for the meeting,
and remained standing among the students. Very accessible for any
intervention, even with those who were not among the film students
that attended for the Eastweek Project. Many different subjects were
addressed, not only techniques, the relationship of cinema by –
literature, the role of the actor, also passing through the more
personal experiences of the man Andrzej Zulawski, often the cues
were rapid to get to the bottom of the questions posed.
Firstly it
emerged that the great liberty of a man who did not want to explain
too much to the young how to become directors, but preferred to
invite them to the strength the be themselves. "It is your life. I
cannot tell you how to be you. I cannot tell you what you need to
do. I can talk only for myself. Only you can say how and who you are
not anyone else. Only you have to decide for yourselves".
