Oratorio per Praga / Oratorio For Prague
Jan Němec started to shoot a documentary with the intention to show the political liberalization of Czechoslovakia and “socialism with a human face” under the rule of Alexander Dubček. However, after the Soviets crushed the Prague Spring and invaded the country, Němec continued filming and he turned his lm into a vivid document of the times of repression and broken hopes.
