The opening and closing films of TSFF32 will introduce our focus for the edition, remembering the beginnings of the former Yugoslav War (1991-2021). These films are two masterpieces from 1995: Underground by Emir Kusturica and Lo Sguardo di Ulisse by Theo Angelopoulos.
The third special event will be the screening of In between Dying by the Azerbaijani director Hilal Baydarvo, former guest of TSFF in 2020, and creator of the in-competition documentary Nails in My Brain.

As of this year’s 32nd edition, we have decided to dedicate a section to female directors from Central and Eastern Europe. Each year we will choose a group of talented female filmmakers from a different country, with 2021’s focus on directors from Poland.
