CINEMA AND ARCHITECTURE: THE QUADRILATERAL OF ROZZOL MELARA

On the occasion of the 33rd edition of the Trieste Film Festival, the Casa del Cinema di Trieste offers an event called Esterno/Giorno in the form of a ‘cinematographic walk’ to discover the films and TV series set in the Melara housing complex. The Quadrilateral, built between 1969 and 1982, consists of two L-shaped buildings in brutalist style and is inspired by the social and architectural theories of Le Corbusier. Elisa Grando, a film journalist, and Nicola Vazzoler, an architect, will guide us through the building’s sets and history, in relation also to other residential complexes such as Corviale in Rome or the Vele in Naples.
