UCRAINA: DA MAIDAN A OGGI

In celebration of the cinematographic tribute to Ukrainian female directors, journalists Cecilia Sala and Anna Zafesova alongside writer and lecturer Yaryna Grusha Possamai will meet with the Trieste Film Festival audience to talk about present-day Ukraine, beginning with the Maidan revolution. The meeting will be led by Massimo Tria, slavist, film critic, and curator of the Wild Roses: Women Filmmakers in Europe this year dedicated to Ukraine.

Anna Zafesova
Journalist Anna Zafesova has collaborated with La Stampa, il Foglio, Linkiesta and Radio Radicale. She is the author of Navalny against Putin: Poison, intrigue and corruption. The Challenge for Russia’s Future (Paesi Edizioni, 2021).

Cecilia Sala
Cecilia Sala is a journalist for Foglio and author of the daily foreign affairs podcast Stories for Chora Media. Together with Chiara Lalli she is the author of the podcast Dust for Huffington Post and the book of the same name for Mondadori Strade Blu.

Yaryna Grusha Possamai
Yaryna Grusha Possamai, teaches Ukrainian language and literature at the University of Milan and the University of Turin. She collaborates with Linkiesta and Radio Radicale. In 2022, together with Alessandro Achilli, she published the anthology of Ukrainian poetry “Poets of Ukraine” for Mondadori. Coming out in February 2023 “Dimensione Kyiv” for BUR.
