AT 8 PM AT POLITEAMA ROSSETTI THE OPENING CEREMONY OF TRIESTE FILM FESTIVAL
ITALIAN PREMIERE OF A HIDDEN LIFE BY TERRENCE MALICK AT POLITEAMA ROSSETTI
The programme starts at 18:00 at Politeama Rossetti with the feature film out of competition Stories From the Chestnut Woods (Zgodbe iz Kostanjevih Gozdov) (SLO – I, 2019, col., 81’): first work shot between Slovenia and Friuli Venezia Giulia, it’s the 2018 winning project of the first edition of the “This is IT” prize of TSFF and winner of 12 awards at the latest Slovenian Film Festival in Portorož. The author will be present at the screening.
At 20:00, always at Politeama Rossetti, will take place the opening ceremony of the 31 TRIESTE FILM FESTIVAL with the BEST FILM CRITIC’S AWARDS SNCCI 2019. The author will be present at the screening.
Immediately after, the italian premiere of A Hidden Life (USA – D, 2019, col. & b-n/b-w, 173’), feature film by the visionary filmmaker Terrence Malick in competition at Cannes film festival 2019.The film is based on a true story: it’s the story of Austrian farmer Franz Jägerstätter, who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II.
At 17:30, at Hilton Hotel, will take place the talk Modernism: a comparative perspective from Central Asia to the territories of former Yugoslavia with Roberto Conte and Stefano Perego, authors of the photographic book Soviet Asia (Fuel, 2019), and Luka Skansi, architecture historian. Martina Sciolis will be the moderator of the event organized in collaboration with the Ordine degli Architetti Pianificatori, Paesaggisti, e Conservatori of Trieste. Free entry.
This edition of Trieste Film Festival includes also various exhibitions.
At the covered market the exhibition Modernistan – Soviet Modernist Architecture in Central Asia; then I still have a suitcase in Berlin at the Double Room and Born after 89 at Cavò; and a selection of posters by renowned Polish poster designer at Politeama Rossetti for Federico Fellini: Eastern visions.
Tickets for the Trieste Film Festival are available at the box-offices of Politeama Rossetti, Cinema Ambasciatori and Teatro Miela.
With the opening of the box-offices it will be possible to purchase the tickets for all the screenings in programme at the theatre where the purchase is being made. Seats are not numbered.
