[:it]MEETING GORBACHEV di Werner Herzog e André Singer (USA-GB-D, 2018, col. & b-n, 92’) è il film d’apertura del 30. TRIESTE FILM FESTIVAL, venerdì 18 gennaio alle ore 20:00 al Politeama Rossetti. L’incontro di Herzog con Gorbačëv apre una luce nuova su alcuni degli avvenimenti più significativi della fine del ventesimo secolo, dal disarmo nucleare all’unificazione della Germania. Il film getta uno sguardo anche sull’epoca attuale, quella del trionfo della politica populista. André Singer sarà presente in sala.
A seguire, alle ore 22:15, il primo film per la sezione ‘Tales from The Berlin Wall’ sarà POSSESSION di Andrzej Zulawski (F-D, 1981, col., 123’). Una donna comincia a mostrare un comportamento sempre più preoccupante dopo aver chiesto il divorzio al marito, e presto i sospetti di infedeltà lasciano il posto a qualcosa di molto più sinistro. Girato sullo sfondo opprimente del muro di Berlino, il film fu presentato in concorso al Festival di Cannes, dove Isabelle Adjani vinse la Palma d’Oro come miglior attrice. The encounter between Herzog and Gorbačëv provides a new insight on some of the most relevant events of the end of the 20th century. The film simultaneously addresses the present time and the rise of populism. The author will be attend the screening.
Following, at 22:15, the first film for the section “Tales from the Berlin Wall” will be POSSESSION by Andrzej Zulawski (F-D, 1981, col., 123’). A woman starts exhibiting increasingly disturbing behavior after asking her husband for a divorce. Suspicions of infidelity soon give way to something much more sinister. Filmed amidst the oppressive backdrop of the Berlin Wall, the film was in competition at Cannes, where Isabelle Adjani was awarded Best Actress for her performance. Special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi created the tentacle creature featured in the film.[:]
