Un nuovo secolo ha inizio. Vincent, omosessuale quarantenne fragile e raffinato, è ossessionato da Schubert. Decide di partire con il figlioccio Itvan per quello che sarà il più bello, ma anche ultimo viaggio: il suo Voyage d’hiver. L’uomo e il ragazzo vagano per la Germania, un paese coperto dalla neve, spazzato dal vento e abitato da fantasmi. L’uomo cerca di cambiare il modo in cui Itvan percepisce il paesaggio e le città tedesche. Attraverso la storia, la poesia e la musica cerca di spiegargli com’è la Germania uscita dal processo di riunificazione e i tentativi fatti per accettare un passato così tormentato. Questa sorta di viaggio iniziatico, attraverso frammenti, paesaggi ghiacciati e melodie romantiche finirà col diventare per l’uomo un viaggio nel suo passato, ma cambierà per sempre anche Itvan..
A new century begins. Vincent, a forty-year old educated and fragile omosexual, is obsessed with Schubert. Along with his godson itvan, he sets for his ultimate and most beautiful journey, his Winter Journey. The man and the adolescent wander through Germany, a country covered with snow, windswept and haunted by ghosts. The man tries to change the way Itvan perceives the landscapes and the towns of Germany. He refers to Germany’s Hjistory, poetry and music to describe the country torn by the process of reunification and its attempt at coming to terms with his troubled past. This sort of initiatic journey, through fragments, icy landscapes and romantic melodies, will turn out to be, for the man, a journey towards his own past. Also Itvan will be not the same.. |
