Pero č specializzato nello scrivere e pronunciare discorsi funebri in un piccola cittadina slovena. Egli prende il suo lavoro cosě seriamente tanto che aggiunge un tocco personale a tutte le sue orazioni riuscendo cosě a far piangere tutti coloro che assistono al funerale. Nella vita privata, Pero č alle prese con un padre che tenta spesso di suicidarsi; allo stesso tempo egli tenta di conquistare il cuore di Renata, che perň sotto l’innocente chioma bionda nasconde qualche segreto. In tutto ciň Pero č assistito dal devoto amico Shooki, un meccanico, adorato da Ida un’eccentrica e bizzarra ragazza sordomuta. Sebbene capace di gioire della vita, Shooki spesso pensa alla morte e ai preparativi per il suo funerale. Nell’assurdo caos che č la vita, chissŕ se Pero e i suoi amici riusciranno nella loro ricerca di affetto e amore...
Vincitore dell’ultimo festival di Cottbus, Odgrobadogroba č stato premiato anche a San Sebastian con l’Altadis Award, premio dedicato ai nuovi registi.
Pero is a professional funeral speaker in a small Slovenian town. He takes his work seriously and adds personal touches to his eulogies that bring the mourners to tears. At home Pero is busy trying to intercept his father’s frequent but hopelessly inept suicide attempts. Meanwhile he also seeks to win the heart of local girl Renata, who bears secrets beneath her innocent blonde curls. In all his daily fortunes and misfortunes Pero is assisted by his devote friend and fan Shooki, a mechanic, adored by Ida, a crazy funny-faced deaf mute girl. Although quite capable of enjoying life, Shooki often ponders about death and makes his own funeral plans. It remains to be seen whether Pero and his companions will succeed in their search for intimacy and love in the absurd chaos that is life...
Odgrobadogroba was awarded as Best Film at the latest Cottbus Film Festival and received the Altadis Award as Best New Director at San Sebastian.
