La storia d'amore fra Tereza e Kryötof č sull'orlo della fine. Lui, trentacinquenne, č architetto, possiede uno studio in societŕ con Michal, č un uomo di successo, un po' stanco di essere circondato da gente piena di soldi ma senza gusto. Il suo sogno: andare via da Praga ed emigrare in una metropoli occidentale. Ama Tereza, ma va a letto anche con Renata. Tereza č piů giovane di lui, lavora come traduttrice, il suo sogno č quello invece di avere una relazione con un partner pieno di tenerezza e di attenzioni, di avere una famiglia... Stanno assieme da molti anni, ma ora qualcosa comincia a vacillare, i loro modi di amare e di sentire la relazione sono diversi, non sono piů in sintonia. Ritratto di una generazione in crisi sullo sfondo di una cittŕ anch'essa indecisa se diventare copia di una metropoli dell'ovest o se mantenere i suoi tratti di grande capitale dell'Est. The love affair between Tereza and Kryötof is on the rocks. He is a thirty-five-year-old architect in partnership with Michal and enjoys his success, but he is rather tired of being surrounded by people full of money but short of taste. His dream is to leave Prague and try his luck in a foreign city. He loves Tereza, but also goes to bed with Renata. Tereza is younger than him and works as a translator and her dream is to have a relationship with a partner who is gentle and considerate, to raise a family... They have been together for several years, but now something is beginning to give way. They love and feel in different ways and are no longer on the same wavelength. The portrait of a generation in crisis against the backdrop of a city which also does not know whether it wants to be a copy of a Western city or to retain the features of a great Eastern capital.Winner of the prize for best film at the latest Czech Film Festival in Plzen.
