Lucas, stravagante genio del computer, è affetto da un male incurabile. In un cafè parigino incontra Blanche, se ne innamora e la segue a Biarritz, dove lei tiene spettacoli sfruttando le sue qualità di veggente. Entrambi hanno alle spalle due tragici episodi che hanno segnato la loro infanzia: lei soffre ancora per le liti furibonde fra il padre e la madre (che ora l'accompagna in tournée); lui ha il ricordo della morte della madre, fatta annegare per gelosia dal marito in un lago dove faceva il bagno con un amico. L'amore fra Lucas e Blanche è ormai una passione che vive felice e disperata nell'attesa della morte annunciata di lui.
Lucas, an extravagant computer genius, is afflicted by an incurable illness. In a Paris cafe, he meets Blanche, falls in love with her and follows her to Biarritz, where she appears in shows making use of her skills as a clairvoyant. Both have two tragic episodes behind them that have marked their childhood: she still suffers as a result of the furious arguments between her father and her mother (who now accompanies her on tour); he has the memory of his mother's death, drowned by her jealous husband in a lake where she was swimming with a friend. The love between Lucas and Blanche is by now a passion that lives happy and in despair at the expectation of his inevitable death. |
