Charlotte torna a Berlino dopo aver vissuto per un certo periodo a New York. Ritrovatasi sola nella grande città, si mette alla ricerca degli amici di un tempo. Con addosso solo un vestito da sera e in tasca cinque euro, tenta di riguadagnarsi la vita che aveva. Col tempo, però, si accorgerà che non è possibile sfuggire al proprio passato e nemmeno decidere il futuro …
