Zlatina è cresciuta in un orfanotrofio, così come Lechko, il suo unico giovane amico. All’età di 12 anni, in un luna park, la ragazzina dimostra il suo talento nello sparare. Quando, raggiunta l’età, lascia l’orfanotrofio è convinta che uno per sopravvivere deve combattere ogni giorno, un po’ come fanno gli animali; l’amicizia, l’amore, i buoni sentimenti insomma appartengono solo al mondo dei teleromanzi. La vita di Zlatina ha una svolta quando Nayden, un vecchio compagno di orfanotrofio e istruttore in un tiro a segno, rimane impressionato dal talento naturale della ragazza nello sparare e si offre di insegnarle tutti i trucchi, di farle da pigmalione. E se ne innamora. Zlatina però rimane sospettosa dell’altruismo di Nayden, sentendo piuttosto il peso di quella relazione così inadeguata. Un incidente conferma i suoi sospetti. Così Zlatina decide di andarsene e di attraversare il confine greco, facendo finta di essere una prostituta...

Zlatina has grown up in an institution for abandoned children. So has Lechko, her younger follower. At a fun fair, at the age of twelve, she shows her talent for shooting. When she grows up and leaves the institution, her behaviour abides by the conviction that one has to struggle daily for one''s survival as animals do; that friendship, love, and other good things happen in soap operas only. The life of Zlatina takes a different turn when a former inmate from the boarding house, Nayden, now an instructor at a shooting gallery, is so impressed by her talent for shooting that he takes her under his guardianship. He trains her and educates her like Pygmalion. And falls in love with her. However, Zlatina is suspicious of his selflessness and fears the inequality of their relationship. A criminal accident confirms her scares. She then decides to pass the Greek border pretending to be a prostitute...
