Rustem è pigro e indifferente alla vita e al mondo. Anche quando viene licenziato dallo zoo presso cui lavora, non si dispera: comincia a girare senza meta, per le strade della città. Un giorno si imbatte in Miko, una ragazza affascinante e ben educata. Nasce una storia d’amore che finalmente provoca in Rustem una miriade di sensazioni. Non si sa molto della vita di Miko, chi siano i suoi genitori o di cosa viva. Ma il suo vagare solitario e il suo desiderio d’amore sono toccanti. Rustem e Miko cercano di scoprire da soli il mondo e di registrare tutto sotto forma di parole e disegni.
“I miei primi film erano dei drammi storici. Questa è la prima esperienza con una storia d’amore che si svolge ai nostri giorni. I ruoli principali sono stati affidati a dilettanti, in modo da essere il più possibile vicini alla realtà. Gli studenti dei seminari, che ho tenuto all’istituto di cinematografia di Alma Ata, hanno contribuito alla sceneggiatura, alle musiche e alle riprese.” (Ardak Amirkulov)
Rustem is lazy and indifferent to life and the world. Even when he is sacked from the zoo where he works, he does not despair: he begins to wander around aimlessly through the streets of the town. One day, he meets Miko, a fascinating, well-educated girl. A love story ensues which finally provokes in Rustem a host of sensations. He does not know much about Miko’s life, who her parents are or how she lives. But her solitary wandering and her desire for love are touching. Rustem and Miko try to discover the world on their own and to record everything in words and drawings.
“My first films were historical dramas. Thus is my first try at a love story that takes place today. The principal roles were given to amateurs, so as to be as close as possible to reality. The students from the seminars I held at the cinematographic institute of Alma Ata helped with the screenplay, the music and the filming.” (Ardak Amirkulov) |
