Una giovane donna, originaria di un piccolo paese della Polonia orientale, parte per Varsavia in cerca di lavoro. Il cugino la ospita nel suo piccolo appartamento e le presenta un amico con il quale egli è solito organizzare piccoli imbrogli che però garantiscono il sostentamento dei tre. La ragazza tenta di ritagliarsi un suo spazio in questo gruppo ristretto, ma finisce per rimettersi in viaggio alla volta di un’altra città. I due uomini decidono allora di seguirla e così tutti e tre partono alla volta del mare.
Rivisitando Stranger than Paradise di Jim Jarmush, Frédéric Moser e Philippe Schwinger ambientano l’azione nella Polonia dei giorni nostri, i cui paesaggi sostituiscono quelli di New York, di Cleveland e della Florida.
A young woman from a little village in Eastern Poland leaves for Warsaw to seek a job. Her cousin lodges her in a tiny apartment, and introduces her to a friend of his, with whom he has several scams going, which provide enough money for the three of them to live. Trying but failing to find a place for herself in this closed group world, she ends up deciding to go to another town, to try again to find work. The two men decide to join her, and the three of them finally set off for the seaside.
Reinterpreting the Jim Jarmush film, Stranger than Paradise, Frédéric Moser and Philippe Schwinger relocate the action to contemporary Poland, whose landscapes replace those of New York, Cleveland and Florida.
