Petrovaradinsko pleme č il risultato di un progetto coordinato dal regista Želimir Žilnik e prende avvio da un laboratorio video su un fenomeno insolito che ha riunito giovani provenienti da tutti gli stati dell’ex Jugoslavia e dalle regioni dell’Europa sud-orientale. Nel luglio del 2000, piů di 300.000 persone hanno partecipato al festival rock EXIT a Novi Sad, in Serbia e Montenegro. Il progetto video ha coinvolto giovani filmmaker di Lubiana e di Novi Sad, il cui scopo non era tanto – o non solo – quello di filmare il festival in sé, quanto quello di partire da un evento cosě noto in Serbia per approfondire i legami e le energie che si sono venute nuovamente a creare fra chi appartiene alla generazione piů giovane di quest’area. Generazione che, soprattutto per motivi anagrafici, non vuole vivere nell’ombra della guerra, dei giudizi e dei sensi di colpa che ne sono seguiti. I risultati del workshop sono stati questo documentario e una pubblicazione che contengono le registrazioni di ogni ricerca individuale, le opinioni di coloro che hanno partecipato al progetto e le conclusioni del dibattito che si č svolto per tutto il corso del festival.
Petrovaradinsko pleme is the result of a project coordinated by Želimir Žilnik and is based on a video workshop that followed an unusual phenomenon in which young people from the states of EX-Yugoslavia and regions of South-East Europe participated. In July 2000 more than 300.000 young people have gathered at the Rock festival EXIT in Novi Sad in Serbia and Montenegro. This film project involved young filmmakers from Ljubljana and Novi Sad whose aim was not filming the festival itself, but using the background of a well known rock festival in Serbia to explore the newly established bonds and energies of the younger generation in the region. A generation so young that doesn’t want to live in the shadow of the past war, judgments and feelings of guilt. The main products of the workshop are a documentary film and a publication that contain registrations of individual inquiries, opinions of the participants in the project and the conclusions of the debate which was held throughout the festival.
