Un uomo, attratto da una forza magnetica esterna a lui, si mette in viaggio senza una meta precisa. Annota meticolosamente nel suo diario tutti i luoghi che attraversa: lande desolate e città piene di traffico, finché arriva al museo Boijmans di Rotterdam. Di notte, dinanzi al quadro St. Mary's Square and St. Mary Church in Utrecht di Pieter Jansz Saenredam capisce di essere arrivato a destinazione. Non solo: ha la sensazione fortissima di essere stato presente quando il dipinto venne realizzato, nel diciassettesimo secolo.
A man, attracted by an external magnetic force, sets out on a voyage without a definite destination in mind. He carefully notes all the places he comes to in his diary: desolate plains and cities full of traffic, until he arrives at the Boijmans Museum in Rotterdam. At night, standing before Pieter Jansz Saenredam's St. Mary's Square and St. Mary Church in Utrecht, he understands he has arrived at his destination. Not only: he has a strong feeling that he was present when the picture was being painted back in the 17th century. |
