Il primo lungometraggio di Timur Sulejmenov è un film surreale, umoristico, in cui si narra la storia di John, un giovane anatomo-patologo americano che arriva in Kazakistan per esplorare questo mondo esotico. Durante il suo viaggio incontra un uomo con cui decide di viaggiare per qualche tempo. Un giorno trova l’amico morto, mentre la gente intorno a lui sostiene che l’uomo fosse morto già da tempo. Incontra anche un ragazzino che è dotato di poteri sovrannaturali: la sua anima riesce a separarsi dal corpo. Quando il ragazzo si addormenta la sua anima si trasferisce nel corpo del fidanzato della madre, che è stato assassinato...
John Goldstein, che interpreta l’americano, è medico anche nella vita reale ed è stato in Kazakistan grazie a un progetto di scambio per medici.
Timur Suleimenov’s first feature-length film is a surreal, humorous film in which is told the story of John, a young American pathological anatomist who arrives in Kazakhstan to explore this exotic world. During his voyage, he meets a man with whom he decides to travel for a while. One day, he finds him dead, and the people around him maintain that he has been dead for some time. He also meets a small boy with supernatural powers: his soul manages to separate itself from his body. When the boy falls asleep, his soul moves into the body of his mother’s boyfriend, who has been assassinated…
John Goldstein, who plays the part of the American, is a doctor in real life and went to Kazakhstan thanks to an exchange project for doctors. |
