Cinque
ragazzi e due ragazze, tutti freschi di maturitŕ a parte uno,
studente in medicina, passano le vacanze in un villaggio sui bordi
del fiume Tisza. Dopo una partita di calcio sulla spiaggia, si
sfidano in una prova di coraggio che consiste nell’immergersi
nell’acqua risalendo con un pugno di fango del fondale. Poi
accendono un fuoco e cominciano a ballare. Solo allora Vadóc si
accorge della scomparsa di Gabi. Le ricerche si protraggono fino a
notte fonda, ma invano. Questo tragico avvenimento spinge il gruppo
a una sorta di esame di coscienza, a una riflessione sui loro
rapporti. Böbe si rende conto che la sua relazione con Karesz č
basata unicamente sull’attrazione fisica; Laci, il piů intelligente
e sensibile, č sconvolto di fronte alla morte, un problema al quale
non riesce a dare risposte, mentre Vadóc, che amava Gabi, piange
quello che poteva essere e non č stato.

Five boys and two girls, all freshly graduated from school apart
from one, a student in medicine, spend their holidays in a village
on the banks of the river Tisza. After a game of soccer on the
beach, they challenge each other in a test of courage which consists
of diving to the river bottom and returning with a handful of mud.
Then they light a fire and begin to dance. Only then does Vadóc
notice the disappearance of her friend Gabi. Searches last until
late at night, but in vain. This tragic event prompts the group to a
kind of examination of conscience, a reflection on their
relationships. Böbe realises that her relationship with Karesz is
based solely on physical attraction; Laci, the most intelligent and
sensitive, is distraught at the death, a problem for which he can
find no answers, while Vadóc, who loved Gabi, mourns what might have
been and was not.
