TODAY THE LAST OF “TSFF dei PICCOLI” LAB: ‘COSTUMIST FOR A DAY’

AT THE MIELA THEATER THE TSFF CLOSING PARTY

 

At 11:00 am, the last day of the Trieste Film Festival opens with the collateral event Visible City (I, 2018, HD, col., 105′) in collaboration with Associazione Maremetraggio. Visible City is a project of participated video, conceived by the association Maremetraggio and financed by Siae Sillumina, shot within three peripheral areas of the city of Trieste which provide for three different workshops run by artists under 35 (Filippo Gobbato, Margherita Panizon, Laura Samani) and aimed at young people living in conditions of social marginality within the same neighborhoods. The titles of the 3 videos produced are Valmaura (An Immense Ocean)Ponziana (It’s The Same World Over) and Melara (Melarancholia). The artistic direction is covered by Erika Rossi. The authors will be present in the hall.

At 2:00 pm the projections continue with Buttoners (Knoflíkári) of Petr Zelenka (CZ, 1997, col. & b-w, 102 ‘) for ‘1989-2019: Wind Of Change’; a black-comedy composed of six stories that combine historical facts and fiction, naturalism and fake scientific experiments. Everything takes place in Prague on the night of 6 August 1995, fifty years after the launch of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. Award-winning in numerous international festivals, Buttoners has become a cult film for the Czech public, winning also as Best Czech Film of 1998.

Last screening of the 30th TRIESTE FILM FESTIVAL will be, at 16:00, Solidarity, Solidarity … (Solidarność, Solidarność) of Bajon, Bromski, Bugajski, Domaradzki, Falk, Glinski, Jakimowski, Kolski, Machulski, Szumowska, Trzaskalski, Wajda and Zanussi (PL, 2005, col., 113′). Thirteen directors of different generations welcomed the invitation of director Andrzej Wajda to commemorate the birth of the Solidarność trade union and the events of August 1980 in Poland. Each director has contributed to the project with a short film of ten minutes, in complete freedom of choice of content and form. The common aim was to recount the phenomenon of Solidarność, which succeeded in overcoming all the social divisions in an unrepeatable enterprise: bringing together ten million Poles in a single movement.

At 4:30 pm, for the TSFF of Littles Ones at Patchwork Victim, there’ll be costumist workshop will be held for a day: drawings, scissors, glue and lots of fabrics available. Children will be able to draw and choose the fabrics for the outfits of the protagonists of their favorite films or of the imaginary ones they would like to shoot one day.

At 10:00 pm at the Teatro Miela, the Trieste Film Festival closes with the TSFF Closing Party: ABOP Live. ABOP is a group that comes from Zagreb and is inspired by the house music of Chicago, the techno of Detroit and the other early original clubbing genres. Five excellent and experienced musicians on stage, coming from some famous rock bands, pop & ethno from the nearby country, will close the 30th edition of the Festival.
