In this third edition of VR Days we want to discuss and explore the role of women in immersive media, explore new technology and new storytelling methods with Stefania Casini, director and producer, Sara Tirelli, visual artist and filmmaker, and Alessia Sonaglioni of the European Women’s Audiovisual Network. The panel will be moderated by Agnese Pietrobon, psychologist and researcher of immersive technologies.

Courage, hope, nostalgia, fear, suffering, disorientation mark the journey of a 13-year-old young migrant. What if you were with him? If you had to face this journey with him? Mare Nostrum. The nightmare is a live action, impact virtual reality 360° experience, taking you on a tour de force of sentiments with effective 3D sound that enables you to live the unfolding tragedy in a very emotional way.

MEDUSA ACT II

Medusa Act II is a 360° short film about the contemporary crisis of Europe’s identity and focuses on the consequences that the massive immigrants flows are causing to European stronghold. It questions the regress and loss of memory of a culture. The film project focuses on the contemporary rising of disused ideologies that are catching on Europe’s political debates and questions the process that shapes public opinion and shared ideology.

THE KEY

Céline Tricart
US, 2019, col., 20’

The Key is an interactive experience mixing immersive theatre and virtual reality. It has a strong narrative structure punctuated by moments of interactivity. The participant goes on a journey exploring dreams, and must face challenges and difficult decisions in each, experiencing loss. The participant will experience a metaphorical journey from danger to safety. Through this journey a hidden truth is uncovered, and a new beauty revealed.
The Key won the Grand Jury Prize for Best VR work during the last Venice Film Festival.
